Step 01: Select Your Song for the Instagram Cover
Our Sing2Music library boasts an array of Sing2Piano and Sing2Guitar tracks. Explore and choose the one that matches your singing style. You can find our complete collection in our library or Sing2Piano / Sing2Guitar YouTube channels.
Step 02: Upload Your Cover Video to Instagram
With your song choice made, it’s time to upload your video to Instagram. For users with iPhones, hit the upload button at the screen’s bottom, and select ‘reel’. You can record a cover directly or upload a pre-recorded one from your gallery.
Step 03: Select Your Pre-recorded Instagram Cover Video
We recommend recording your cover outside of Instagram to prevent any loss of footage. Use the ‘videos’ filter on your iPhone to quickly locate your video. Select your video and proceed to the preview screen.
The preview screen will have the crop option down the bottom alongside the next button in the top right.
Step 04: Editing Your Instagram Cover Video
The edit overview screen on Instagram provides a multitude of functionalities, including adding music. Tap on the music symbol and search for the Sing2Piano or Sing2Guitar track you’ve chosen for your cover.
Step 05: Locate Your Sing2Piano or Sing2Guitar Backing Track
Enter the keywords “Sing2Piano” or “Sing2Guitar” followed by the song name into Instagram’s search box. If you’re unable to find the track, DM us on our Sing2Music Instagram page. Select “C | Other – Help Me” followed by “Missing Sound/Track” and follow the prompts for us to resolve this issue.
Step 06: Adjust Audio Levels for Your Instagram Cover [Important]
Having selected your Sing2Piano or Sing2Guitar track, it’s important that you need to adjust the audio levels. Navigate to Instagram’s music library, tap ‘controls’, set camera audio to 100 and adjust the backing track level to 3. This odd step is to ensure that you’re original cover/voice is there but now it will be assigned the backing track audio / sound that appears in the bottom right of a video, which helps with copyright issues (below.)
Step 07: Avoid Instagram Copyright Issues – Muting & Takedowns
To prevent Instagram from muting your cover due to copyright issues, ensure your cover is under 60 seconds long and adjust the music library volume controls as mentioned in step 6.
Step 08: Caption and Tag Your Instagram Cover
Add a caption and tag relevant accounts to your cover post.
Remember to tag us, @Sing2Music
Step 09: Incorporate Hashtags in Your Instagram Cover Post
Within the caption use our hashtag #Sing2Music. Alongside the appropriate instrument hashtag: #Sing2Piano or #Sing2Guitar depending on the track you chose. This enhances visibility, allows us to find these posts easier and connects you with a community of like-minded aspiring artists.
Linking your Instagram account to your Facebook page is highly recommended. This enables seamless posting across both platforms plus the added benefit of capturing a larger audience outside of just Instagram.
Sprinkle in some topics as well to help out Instagram, to better place your videos alongside other related content. We regularly make use of the sing “performances” and “singers” topic options within Instagram.
You’ll 100% want to ensure that in advanced settings you have selected “Upload at highest quality” as well, for obvious reasons.
Step 10: Share Your Instagram Cover
After ensuring that all the necessary information is in place, it’s time to share your cover with the world! Click on the ‘Share’ button, and your cover will become visible on your Instagram feed. If you have linked your Instagram and Facebook accounts, your cover will also appear on Facebook.
If you wish to have your cover reposted on Sing2Music’s page, please DM us on Instagram for a automated but streamlined process! Having your cover featured on our page can significantly increase your visibility and potentially lead to more recognition for your cover efforts 😀
Step 11: Pin, Remove or hide post from profile
Once a reel is uploaded you then have the option to remove from profile grid or pin to the top of your profile/reels section. By tapping on the three dots in the top right. We recommend keeping on both of your profile and reels to help with visibility, depending on your own choice of what to display of course.
