The Public Performance Licence gives you permission to use Sing2Music backing tracks in live settings for 12 months. Once active, you can perform any track across the full catalogue — including Sing2Piano, Sing2Guitar, and Karaoke SESH.

This licence covers all of your purchased tracks from the Sing2Music catalogue, not individual tracks. It's a single annual option for performers who want clear, ongoing permission to use backing tracks on stage.

Which licensing option is right for me?
If you’re singing for fun, practising, recording at home, or posting a cover to social media, a basic, personal-use option may be enough. If you want to release your cover on platforms like Spotify, Apple Music or YouTube Music, you’ll need a distribution licence like our Artist or Upfront licences. If you’re performing live using Sing2Music tracks — for example at gigs, weddings, busking sets or regular public performances — you may need a public performance licence. Commercial uses, sponsored content, paid campaigns, client work, TV, film, advertising and other professional applications usually require a separate commercial licence. Do I have to deal with the songwriter's rights myself, or does my Sing2Music licence cover that?
Your Sing2Music licence covers the recording — the instrumental you're singing over. It doesn't cover the composition, meaning the song itself written by the original songwriter. For social media covers, platforms like TikTok and Instagram usually handle that side through their own publishing deals, so you don't need to do anything. But if you're distributing a cover to Spotify or Apple Music, you'll need a mechanical licence for the composition. Many distributors include this (DistroKid, for example) — check with yours before you release.
Can Sing2Music handle distribution to Spotify & Apple Music for me?
Yes. If you've got a Release My Cover (Revenue Share) licence, distribution is built in — we take care of getting your cover onto Spotify, Apple Music, and the other major platforms. Just buy your track and keep an eye on your email for the next steps. For the Keep 100% Royalties (Upfront) tier, our distribution service is coming soon. For now, you release through your own distributor — but if you'd like us to handle it, reach out via our contact page and we'll help you out.
I'm an instrumentalist - do Sing2Music licences only cover singers?
Our licences cover instrumentalists too—whether you play cello, violin, saxophone or something else. You’re welcome to perform with Sing2Music backing tracks; just choose the licence that best suits how you’ll use them.
